Protection and Filter Resistors

Reliably smoothing current and voltage peaks

What are filter resistors?

Filter resistors are used in combination with inductive and capacitive components in filters to reduce unwanted voltage, current, and load peaks. These filters can be applied to protect components, smooth output voltages in rectifiers, or ensure the required power quality during grid feed-in.

FRIZLEN offers wirewound tubular and flat resistors as well as steel grid resistors that allow for high energy absorption – each designed with the appropriate protection class and mounting options depending on the application and environmental conditions.

Filter resistors for voltage smoothing during grid feed-in

Our filter resistors are used wherever sensitive components need to be protected from transient overvoltages and grid disturbances – especially in renewable energy systems during grid feed-in.

With decades of experience, we develop customized solutions with defined thermal and electrical characteristics for our customers.

Depending on the application, various designs are available, including wirewound flat and tubular resistors as well as steel grid resistors. All designs offer a defined ohmic-inductive behavior, which can be specifically influenced by the resistor design.

Our resistors stand out due to their high thermal load capacity, defined inductance, and precise reproducibility of damping characteristics. Manufactured as individual components or modular assemblies, our filter resistors meet the highest standards for operational safety and long-term stability.

We are happy to assist you in selecting the right solution – from prototype units to series production.
